Veterans’ Affairs and Podiatry

For many years, clients of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) have had access to the services of podiatrists. This allows eligible clients of DVA to have podiatry assessment and treatment at no direct cost.

DVA clients who hold a ‘gold card’ and a valid referral form their GP can arrange for an appointment with one of our podiatrists at our clinics in Woolloongabba. If you hold a ‘white card’ for specific conditions, these must be related to foot problems (eg diabetes, foot osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis etc).

DVA clients have access to the full range of services at our practice. This includes;

  • assessment for diabetes, arthritis and other forms of foot pain and injury
  • orthotics, insoles and other lower extremity splints (eg AFO, ankle braces)
  • Doppler vascular assessments for circulation problems
  • assessment and referral for medical grade footwear, and mobility products and services through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP)

If you, or a family member are a client of DVA, and require treatment by a podiatrist in Brisbane, please talk to your GP about getting a referral to see us.
