Professional Fees, Health Insurance & Medicare
A medical referral is not required to visit a podiatrist. However, if you are seeking cover under DVA, Medicare or WorkCover, a GP referral is necessary. Podiatry services under covered under most Private Health Insurance "Extras" funds, and we have HICAPS facilities for on-the-spot claiming (please bring your health fund card in order to do this). Please check with your health fund to determine your level of cover for podiatry services.
A Fact Sheet about eligibility for Medicare rebatable allied health/podiatry services is available for you to download here.Current Professional Fees(Commonly used item numbers as at 1.6.2010 Subject to change, additional fees may apply for products or treatments supplied in addition to the consultation)
Please feel free to contact us regarding a quote on our other associated professional fees (eg foot orthoses and nail surgery fees), and discounts for pensioners and health care card holders when making your appointment. Typically an initial consultation is required to carefully assess your problem, at which time we can provide you with either immediate treatment of your problem, or an indication as to additional consultations that might be required, and those associated costs. If you require treatment such as foot orthoses or a minor surgical procedure, we will assess this at your initial consultation and discuss your options and possible costs with you at length.
